Rescuers Save Beaten Pregnant Dog Struggling on a Lonely Highway

Lisa, a stray dog, faced unimaginable cruelty while trying to survive for her unborn puppies. She was badly beaten and left to navigate the unforgiving streets alone.

When rescuers saw a viral image of her battered body, they immediately mobilized to find her. Unfortunately, it took three days before a volunteer finally spotted Lisa walking slowly along the edge of a highway, but the tragic news was that her puppies were gone. The harsh conditions had led to a devastating stillbirth, leaving Lisa with the heavy weight of loss and immense physical suffering.

Approaching a Terrified Survivor

The rescue team was heartbroken at Lisa’s condition. She was severely anemic, weak, and suffering from the trauma of her recent ordeal. Despite their desire to help, Lisa was terrified and would bolt if they moved too quickly. The rescuers used food to coax her, carefully placing a meal on the ground and backing away, allowing her to eat while remaining alert to potential danger.

With patience, they gradually approached her until they could safely secure her without causing further pain.

Overcoming Hydration Challenges

At the rescue center, another challenge emerged: Lisa was severely dehydrated but refused to drink from a bowl. The team opted to use a syringe filled with a nutrient-rich liquid to hydrate her, but Lisa was clever and quickly figured out their plan, stubbornly refusing the syringe.

This led to a compassionate struggle between Lisa and the team, who patiently worked to ensure she received the fluids needed for her survival.

A New Beginning

Lisa’s determination to survive served her well. Within days, she transitioned from needing coaxing to eat to consuming full meals on her own. This crucial improvement meant she was strong enough for the surgery needed to address her physical wounds.

Then came a significant milestone: her first walk outside. Unlike many dogs who experience similar trauma, Lisa adapted quickly to the leash, walking beautifully and showcasing her ability to learn in a secure environment.

Though Lisa endured severe hardships, she is now embarking on a new life where she will no longer have to search for food in fear.
