In a heart-stopping moment, a tiny black-and-white dog named Tulum lay injured on the side of a busy road, paralyzed after being struck by a vehicle. While her owner searched desperately for her, she was alert yet unable to move, trapped in a terrifying situation.
A Life-Saving Rescue
Animal rescuer Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, received an urgent message about Tulum’s plight. Without hesitation, she rushed to the scene, where she found the little dog in deep medical shock. Tulum was trying to crawl away, but her body would not respond.

With care, Suzette lifted the fragile pup and transported her to a local veterinary clinic. During the ride, she affectionately named her Inky, unaware that Tulum’s owner was already frantically searching for his beloved dog.
Reunited, But Facing Challenges
Within 24 hours, word reached Tulum’s owner, who arrived at the clinic in tears upon seeing her condition. The reunion was bittersweet, overshadowed by the reality that Tulum needed an MRI and complex spinal surgery, which her owner could not afford.
Determined to help, Suzette reached out to her community for support. Thanks to the compassion of strangers, enough funds were raised to cover Tulum’s extensive medical expenses.
Hope on the Road to Recovery
On November 6, 2024, Tulum underwent surgery to repair the damage caused by the accident. The operation was successful, and as she began her recovery, her owner’s presence at the clinic sparked a renewed determination in Tulum. With rigorous physical therapy and laser treatments, she started to regain feeling in her back legs.
A Joyful Homecoming
Weeks passed as Tulum fought through her recovery, all the while motivated by the love of her owner. Finally, the day came when she was strong enough to leave the veterinary clinic. When her dad walked in to pick her up, Tulum erupted with joy, wiggling with excitement and unable to reach him fast enough.
Emerging from the clinic together, Tulum and her dad had triumphed over adversity, proving that compassion and community can lead to miraculous outcomes.
