In the industrial area of Nakhon Nayok, Thailand, a stray dog named Mali found herself in a dire situation while exploring near some silos. What seemed like solid ground turned into a nightmare when her paws sunk into a sticky mass of discarded rubberized asphalt.
With only her snout above the surface, Mali struggled to breathe as the thick material began to cool and harden around her. The desperate whimpers she emitted caught the attention of a passerby, Supatra Baisri, who immediately recognized the urgency of her plight.

Supatra traced the faint sounds to their source, horrified to discover Mali trapped in the suffocating muck. Realizing that jumping in to rescue her would put both their lives at risk, he called emergency services, hoping for a swift response.
A Critical Rescue Operation
When the emergency team arrived, they grasped the severity of the situation. Mali was slowly being crushed by the rubberized asphalt, and time was running out. They brought in an excavator, preparing for a delicate extraction that demanded precision and care to avoid further injuring the terrified dog.
After two grueling hours of carefully removing the asphalt, Mali was finally freed from her grim entrapment. However, she was in a critical condition, covered in dark debris and suffering from the trauma of being ensnared.
Compassionate Care for a Vulnerable Life
Workers from a nearby factory rushed to assist, bringing large cans of benzine oil to help dissolve the remaining asphalt from her fur. With their dedicated efforts, the thick layers began to melt away, allowing Mali to breathe easier and easing some of her suffering.
Once liberated, Mali was transported to a local veterinary clinic for immediate care. The medical team provided her with a thorough cleaning and assessment to ensure her recovery from the ordeal. Despite the physical trauma she experienced, Mali’s spirit remained resilient.
A New Beginning for Mali
Today, Mali is resting comfortably, wrapped in warm blankets and receiving gentle affection from her caregivers. She has access to fresh food and a safe environment, marking a significant recovery milestone after her harrowing experience.
The attending veterinarian emphasized the importance of vigilance against hazards that can endanger animals like Mali, advocating for safer environments where creatures can roam without fear of becoming trapped.
