For ten long years, a fragile Greyhound named LuLu lived confined to a small area, tethered by a heavy chain. Her owner had left her to guard the courtyard, neglecting her basic needs, which led to severe physical deterioration.

When volunteers finally discovered her, LuLu was in a shocking state of neglect, with tight skin stretched painfully over her frail bones. After negotiating with her owner, the rescue team freed her from the chains that had bound her for a decade.

During the car ride to the veterinary hospital, LuLu remained completely silent, curling up quietly in the seat. Her demeanor might have been a reflection of her exhaustion or an understanding that she was finally being taken to safety.

Desperate Medical Intervention

Upon arrival at the clinic, a thorough examination uncovered a series of life-threatening issues, including severe dehydration, profound anemia, and a high risk of liver and kidney failure. The medical team immediately started infusing her with essential nutrients, but after two days, her condition continued to worsen.

Realizing the urgency of her situation, they determined that LuLu required a blood transfusion to survive the night. However, the clinic lacked sufficient blood supply, prompting volunteers to think creatively.

A Lifesaving Donation

They reached out to another recently rescued stray dog, who was initially frightened but eventually became a lifesaver. The brave dog donated blood, which was used in LuLu’s emergency transfusion. This timely intervention brought life back into her tired eyes.

A New Beginning

Once stabilized, LuLu was officially named, and her health began to improve. Remarkably, she soon gained the strength to walk on her own.
