In a harrowing incident, a dog named Flora was found abandoned in a cardboard box at the edge of a steep canal. This precarious drop led to jagged rocks below, and Flora used her last ounce of strength to emit a desperate scream for help as the box tipped over the edge.
Witnesses reported seeing a truck carelessly discard the sealed box at this dangerous location. Flora’s weak movement inside the box caused it to topple, sending her tumbling into the trench below. She lay there, unable to stand, completely drained of energy.

Upon arriving at the clinic, the veterinary team conducted extensive blood work and X-rays, fearing the worst. Fortunately, none of Flora’s tests revealed major internal injuries or broken bones. Instead, she was suffering from severe starvation and weakness after being left behind.
With proper care and nourishment, Flora’s recovery was remarkably swift. In just three days, she began to walk with assistance, transforming from a fragile creature into a vibrant personality. Fatima noted the emotional moment when she texted her team about Flora’s progress, excitedly announcing, “Flora is getting her freedom ride today!”
Flora left the harsh conditions of the streets of Mexico, moving into a loving foster home where she could receive the attention she desperately needed. From being abandoned with nothing, she blossomed into a playful, affectionate dog, now enjoying activities like chasing the garden hose and playing with a soccer ball.
