Uncovering the Shocking Truth
The footage from 1:24 a.m. showed the dog plummeting from above the building rather than finding his way up. It is believed he was intentionally thrown from a nearby bridge, discarded in the dark like garbage, but fate intervened. Instead of hitting the ground, the dog landed on an outdoor tent, which cushioned his fall.
Survival Instincts in Action
Left disoriented yet alive, the dog explored the rooftop for an escape route. With worsening weather, he cleverly found a small gap beneath an air conditioning unit to shield himself from the freezing winds until morning.
The Rescue
When the distillery staff discovered him, they quickly contacted the KC Pet Project for help. Known for their love of dogs, the staff at J. Rieger & Co. could not leave him in distress. The rescue team arrived and found the dog to be sweet and non-aggressive, showing no signs of fear as they approached.
Remarkable Recovery
Named Rieger by the distillery staff in honor of his miraculous survival, the dog underwent a medical evaluation. To everyone’s astonishment, Rieger was found to be completely unharmed, with no broken bones despite his harrowing experience.
A Happy Ending
Rieger was taken in by the KC Pet Project but did not remain in their care for long. His resilient spirit captured the hearts of a loving family, and he was quickly adopted into a safe and nurturing home. After enduring the worst of humanity, Rieger found comfort and love in his new family.
