In a hidden corner of an industrial junkyard, an elderly blind pit bull named Duncan lay trapped under a heavy metal dumpster. At twelve years old, he had succumbed to neglect and despair, his frail body barely clinging to life. A concerned worker noticed him and quickly slid a bowl of water underneath the dumpster, but Duncan had little strength left to respond.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the worker reached out to Hope for Paws. They arrived promptly, finding Duncan disoriented and confused. Despite his fragile state, he showed no signs of resistance as they gently placed a soft snare around his neck, guiding him out into the light.

Once free from the dumpster, Duncan’s condition became painfully clear. A dirty piece of rope was still tied around his neck, a haunting reminder of the neglect he had endured. At the veterinary clinic, the doctors assessed him and discovered severe dehydration, chronic skin disease, painful ulcers, and two tumors. They suggested euthanasia as a humane option to end his suffering, but the rescue team refused to let Duncan’s story end there.
Determined to give him the love and care he had missed for so long, they contacted the Frosted Faces Foundation, which specializes in senior dog care. The foundation welcomed Duncan into a nurturing foster home, providing him with the comfort and attention he desperately needed.
In his new environment, Duncan began to show signs of improvement. Although he struggled with canine dementia, he found solace in curling up in warm laundry baskets, discovering a newfound sense of security. The gentle hands of his caregivers offered him the comfort and affection he had long been denied.
While Duncan’s future remains uncertain, he is no longer a forgotten soul in a cold junkyard. Instead, he is surrounded by love, with each day filled with warmth and kindness. The Frosted Faces Foundation team reflects on their mission: “Ensuring his last memories are filled with absolute love, rather than the cold shadow of a dumpster, is the greatest justice we could ever offer him.”
